Yin yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow, meditative form of yoga. The American Paulie Zink is the founder of Yin Yoga in the late 1970s. Paul Grilley takes an interest in Yin Yoga and studies Paul Zinkie for a year in 1988. Yin-style yoga is now being taught across North America and in Europe, due in large part to the teaching activities of yin yoga teachers and developers Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers.

Yin yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. The postures are held for a period of three to five minutes. By holding the postures for a longer time, you might feel resistance. How do you deal with this resistance? You use the postures to get into your body. During your Yin Yoga practice you want to relax as much as possible.

Yin Yoga postures are very accesible, also if you have a little or no yoga experience at all.
